Dr. Schuman received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with high honors. He received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at Cornell University Medical Center, The New York Hospital and Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He has also completed training at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, on the Liver Transplant Team. Dr. Schuman is actively involved in research, including studies in Hepatitis C, Crohn’s disease, Ulcer disease and colitis. He is a Physician Advisor for the American Cancer Society, and frequently lectures on the benefits of colon cancer screening. He was the president of the New Jersey Gastroenterology Society. Dr. Schuman is a sports enthusiast, enjoys travel and spending time with his two sons.
Dr. Schuman is a recipient of the 2014 NJ monthly Top Docs award.
